Head Organic Shampoo has long been regarded as Australia’s finest shampoo and conditioner.
But a new report by The Conversation has found the brand is now under fire for using artificial ingredients in its products.
According to the report, Head Organisics shampoo is the worst-selling shampoo in the country, costing up to $10,000 per bottle, and has the highest number of complaints on the shampoo label compared to all other brands.
“Head Organics shampoo has received a lot of attention in recent months, and is a well-known brand, particularly for its organic hair care products, but we’ve also seen a lot more negative reviews and complaints in recent years,” head of products and operations, David Schofield, told The Conversation.
“We’ve been inundated with these complaints in the last few months, especially in the past few months.”
And they’ve been on our shampoo label for quite some time now.
We’re aware of some of these concerns, so we’ve been making some changes to the shampoo line to try and address the concerns we’ve received.
“The report claims Head Organicals shampoo was introduced in 2018, but only began testing it in 2018.”
This is due to the fact that organic hair products have been in high demand for a long time now, and so there is a very strong demand for organic hair shampoo,” Mr Schofeads said.”
So we’re looking at the shampoo that’s currently in production to see how it’s performing.
“Mr Schofelds said he was aware of the concerns, but that the brand was “committed to continuing to develop and deliver our products in the best way possible”.
The head of Head Organies shampoo, David Chalfe, said the brand’s organic hair hair shampoo was a “complete natural product” and was made from organic ingredients.”
It’s very safe and completely safe to use, and it’s made from 100 per cent natural ingredients,” Mr Chalfee said.”[The shampoo] comes in a plastic container, which is sealed to ensure that the shampoo doesn’t get mixed up in the environment.
“The shampoo also comes with a bottle that you can use in your shower or wash your hair daily.”
The company’s website also states that “we take our commitments to ethical and sustainable manufacturing very seriously”.
But the Head Organises shampoo’s “organic” claim is contradicted by the company’s own ingredients.
According the report: Organic shampoo is a safe, effective and non-toxic alternative to conventional hair products.
“When you wash your hands after washing your hair, you’re washing the shampoo,” Head Organisms head of hair products, Michael Rolfe, told the newspaper.
“What you’re actually doing is removing shampoo from your scalp and then putting it on your face, or washing your hands with it.”
According to Head Organisers website, organic shampoo contains a “highly concentrated blend of organic microalgae and non GMO ingredients”.
“It is also formulated using only the highest quality organic ingredients available,” the website states.
“These include organic palm oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, kiwi oil, soybean oil, palm kernel oil, hemp oil, organic avocado oil, and more.”
Mr Rolfee said organic shampoo would “reduce friction and irritation”, which was “essential for a hair that is thick and coarse”.
“If you’re sensitive to the natural oils in the shampoo, you might want to avoid using it,” he said.
