Organic shampoo, organic honey and organic organically treated products can be found in supermarkets, but they’re often expensive and may not be suitable for all skin types, says Marie-Josephe Larche, head of the dermatology department at Le Cordon Bleu in the French city of Nice.
“It’s a bit of a grey area because they’re all different,” she says.
“Some people can be allergic to some of the ingredients and may need to take medication, so I’m not sure how it’s going to work in all cases.”
I’m very aware of the fact that the ingredients in organic shampoo are not very safe.
We’ve heard of a few cases of people getting allergic reactions, but there are also a few that have not been diagnosed.
“Larche, who is also a dermatologist at the University of Geneva, is not an expert in the treatment of skin allergies, but she is an expert on the importance of using good ingredients and products.”
People have been asking me for years, ‘Is it possible to be able to do this?’ because it’s not as easy as it sounds,” she explains.”
The idea is to take the product you love and apply it to the whole skin.
“So how can you find an organic shampoo that will work for your needs?
“The only thing that we have to worry about is that you can’t get the same results as if you had a chemical.””
We are happy to give it a try because it has a lot of good ingredients,” she tells New Scientist.

“You don’t need to be worried about the safety of the product as long as it’s organic.”
The French company has sold about 10 million bottles of shampoo to date.
Nexxis shampoo is also used in many European countries including the UK, Germany, Spain and the US.
“We’re trying to create a new product that’s different and exciting for our customers,” Larche says.
“Our aim is to offer the customers products that are very simple to use and easy to find.”
Her advice for consumers is to be wary of the word organic when buying organic shampoo.
“Organic shampoo is used to cleanse and condition the skin, and the word ‘organic’ implies that it’s natural,” she warns.
“In reality, organic shampoo contains a lot more chemicals than normal.
It’s not safe for sensitive skin.”
In addition, some brands such as Nexxuse and Nexxinorganic use synthetic or synthetic preservatives in their products.
It is also possible that the products they use are made with ingredients which are known to be unsafe.
