Buenos Aires, Argentina (Reuters) – Organics has recalled nearly 3 million bottles of shampoo and body conditioners in Argentina after it said a company called Azafran Organics was selling counterfeit labels.
The company, which was also the subject of a court case, said in a statement on Wednesday it was working to resolve the matter with the authorities.
“The actions of the company have raised suspicion in Argentina, and we are currently working to bring the matter to a conclusion, as quickly as possible,” it said.
The statement said Azafras shampoo was sold by the company to a third party in Chile, and was imported into Argentina from Peru, Mexico and other countries.
Azafran said in its statement it had a list of customers who purchased the shampoo, which it said was a registered trademark of Azafres company.
It did not identify the third party, but said it was investigating the claims.
Last year, Azafrans shampoo was accused of promoting an illegal drug.
